Common selection questions

Confirm requirements with our team before the final order.

What is the difference between the AA 7800 series and the AA 7804?

AA 7804 is the dedicated flame instrument: single beam, deuterium background correction and an automated four-lamp turret. The AA 7800 designation covers the wider series up to AA 7828, which keeps the same Czerny-Turner monochromator and 1800 lines/mm grating but adds graphite furnace and hydride-generation capability.

Should I choose flame, graphite furnace or hydride generation?

Flame suits mg/L to sub-mg/L work such as drinking water, soil extracts and alloys. Graphite furnace reaches the µg/L range and below for trace metals in food and environmental samples. Hydride generation is for arsenic, selenium and mercury, which form volatile hydrides. The series supports all three measurement modes.

What gases and site conditions does it need?

Flame operation uses acetylene with air assist; acetylene is controlled in 12 levels and air assist in 4 levels, with PC-controlled ignition. Gas is cut off automatically on low pressure, power failure or flame-out. Site the instrument at 10–35 °C and ≤85% relative humidity, and allow for the 850 × 650 × 550 mm footprint.
